Subject Description | This subject will examine a variety of approaches to the understanding of gender offered within recent social theory. Students will be able to show an advanced understanding of the main developments in feminist theory; understand issues involved in present-day debates about feminist epistemology and knowledge; demonstrate knowledge of the debates surrounding the relationship between western and other feminism; and understand the contemporary feminist debates about gender politics. |
Assessment | Written work amounting to no more than 6000 words. |
