Subject Description

This subject examines the nature and causes of the changes brought about in Russian Society by the Revolutions of 1917 and their aftermath. On completion of this subject the student should have an improved understanding of the nature of Pre-revolutionary Russian society, the causes and consequences of the Russian Revolution, and the nature of early post-revolutionary Soviet Society.

Assessment

An 500-word class paper; a 2500-word research essay; at the end of the subject either a 2000-word review essay or a 2-hour examination.
