Subject Description

This covers the Advanced Swedish language with emphasis on stylistics, the history of the Swedish language, a detailed stylistic analysis of some major Swedish works and Swedish prose and poetry of the 20th century. Students will further develop their competence in the Swedish language in interpersonal, informational and aesthetic domains; and be further experienced in the use of a variety of registers of Swedish within a contextual and historical setting. They will also be acquainted with the development of the Swedish language from rune to modern Swedish.

Assessment

Class papers and assignments of not more than 5000 words, and up to 4 hours of language tests.
