Subject Description

This subject is an introduction to the Old Norse language and a survey of the history and culture of the Viking Era (c. 800-1050 AD). Students will be introduced to Old Norse, the language of Scandinavia during the Viking Era (c. 800-1050 AD) and will aim to develop reading skills in Old Norse so that they can read simple texts and will be introduced to the history and culture of Scandinavia during the Viking Era (c. 800-1050 AD).

Assessment

2-hour examination at the end of semester.
