Subject Description | The first part of the course consists of a study of a selection of Verga's short stories as well as his novel I Malavoglia in the light of his literary theory and practice; the second part, instead, is a study of Consolo's Sorriso dell'ignoto marinaio with particular reference to its linguistic and structural novelties as well as its interpretation of the Risorgimento. |
Assessment | One class paper (2000 words 3rd year, 2500 words 4th year) plus one essay 3000 words (3rd year), 3500 words (4th year). |
