Subject Description | Language studies focuses on the spoken and written language of present-day Italy through regular weekly exercises in composition and translation as well as conversation. Cultural studies focuses on the postwar detective story both in literary terms and more broadly in anthropological and historical terms looking at questions such as fascism and mafia. |
Assessment | For language studies, continuous assessment (average of take-home exercises) plus one 2-hour end-of-semester written examination; for cultural studies, one 1500 word essay plus a 1-hour test. |
