Subject Description

French 2A is designed to further develop skills taught in French IA. In the area of writing, students should be capable of writing short essays, of translating short passages from and into French, and be familiar with more complex syntactic structures. Students will be introduced to a study of literature and contemporary French society in small language group classes. All classes will be taught in French and emphasis will be placed on the development of oral fluency and aural competency. Multi-media interactive materials will be used to acquaint students with aspects of French culture.

Assessment

One written language test (1 hour) (30%); one oral test (10 minutes) (20%); one set texts test (1 hour) (30%); continuous assessment of set exercises (5%); civilisation test (15%).
