Subject Description | A study of contemporary Australian cinema with a brief introduction to the early period. Topics will include: early film history; the 70s Renaissance; myth and narrative; gender and sexuality; the road movie; feminist filmmaking; independent and avant-garde Australian filmmaking; postcolonial perspectives; Aboriginal filmmaking. |
Assessment | Written work which may comprise class papers, essays or take-home examinations totalling about 5000 words. |
