Subject Description

This subject involves the study of performance events across a wide range of institutional sites, which include theatre, film, carnival, television, sport, dance and performance art. It provides an introduction to the emerging discipline of performance studies, and creates a framework for reading performances in terms of their impact on identity formations.

Assessment

Written work of not more than 5,000 words consisting of two essays, one of 2000 words and one of 3000 words or one long essay of 5000 wards after consultation with the coordinator.
