Subject Description

History of the development of Syrian and Palestinian culture from the late Chalcolithic down to the Assyrian conquest. The subject makes extensive use of architectural evidence and figurative art.

Assessment

3000 words of written work (50%) and a 2-hour examination (or equivalent) at the end of semester (50%).

Prescribed Texts

A reading guide will be made available to the students at the beginning of semester.
