Subject Description

A study of the interaction between the socio-political structures and the material culture of the Sumerians, Babylonians and Assyrians from the first villages to the collapse of the Assyrian empire.

Assessment

3000 words of written work (50%) and a 2-hour examination (or equivalent) at the end of semester (50%).

Prescribed Texts

A reading guide will be made available to the students at the beginning of the semester.
