Subject Description

The subject builds on the basic understanding of grammar and syntax acquired in Beginners Ancient Greek A. In addition to the revision of formal elements of grammar, there is grammar and syntax, reading of new literary texts, translation exercises, and background lectures in Greek culture. The aim is for students to acquire a good understanding of the elements of the grammar, syntax and vocabulary of Ancient Greek and to attain skills sufficient to begin reading literary texts.

Assessment

Regular exercises and class tests (30%) and a 2-hour examination (70%).
