Subject Description

The elements of Ancient Greek; reading simple texts; translation exercises; introduction to Greek culture. Students on completion of the subject should have acquired an understanding of the elements of the grammar, syntax and vocabulary of Ancient Greek and have attained reading skills sufficient to begin reading literary texts.

Assessment

Regular exercises and class tests (30%) and a 2-hour examination (70%).
