The Faculty of Arts offers an interdepartmental program in Women's Studies housed in the Department of History.
The program draws on a core of subjects taught by lecturers in Women's Studies and a wide range of options taught by a number of Departments. Entry to the program will usually be at second-year level. It is possible to complete a major and proceed to Combined Honours in Women's Studies.
The normal prerequisite for entry to a major in Women's Studies is the completion of 50 points at first-year level (or equivalent).
A major in Women's studies requires the completion of at least five subjects at second and third-year level, totalling 83.3 points, which must include:

Pure Honours in Women's Studies is not available. The prerequisite for entry to Women's Studies combined honours is a completion of all requirements of the Bachelor of Arts degree, completion of a major in Women's Studies with a grade average of H2A or better, and admission to honours in another area of study within the Faculty. Prospective Honours Students should also complete a satisfactory thesis proposition form, available from the Convener of the program. Prospective Combined Honours students should see the convener during second semester of the year prior to entry into Honours.
