Handbook 1997 : Faculty of Science : Geography (Science)
The subjects in Geography introduce students to modern concepts and methods in a major area of environmental science. The subjects emphasise the principles of physical geography, provide examples of their operation in Australia and give field experience in the use of those principles in practice. They emphasise human effects on environmental processes.
Students wishing to concentrate their studies in Geography should take 25 points or more of first year Geography subjects. Below is a list of recommended subjects for a Geography specialisation within the Bachelor of Science.
Two or more of the following four 100-level Geography and Environmental Science subjects, listed in Science subjects offered by Geography and Environmental Studies at the 100-level.
One or more of:
Biology 600-141 and 600-142 (Before 1996: 600-101 Biology), 600-111; Earth Sciences 625-101, 625-102, 625-113.
