Handbook 1997 : Faculty of Science : Anatomy and Cell Biology
The Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology offers 3 courses of subjects, Cell and Developmental Biology, Neuroscience and Human Anatomy. These cover various aspects of the scientific study of normal structure, cell biology, developmental biology and neuroscience. At the 200-level, the microscopic structure of cells, structure of tissues and organs, human embryology, cell biology and the anatomy of the human body can be studied.
At the 300-level, more specialised subjects deal with current approaches and concepts in cell and developmental biology, the study of the structure, development and function of the nervous system and advanced studies in human, functional and applied anatomy.
Subjects in each of the streams are coordinated with appropriate subjects in other Departments.
Chemistry 610-121 + 610-122 or 610-141 + 610-142 or 610-161 and 610-162
