Objectives: | On successful completion of the subject, students should have broadened and deepened their knowledge of modern concepts and techniques in information systems. | |
Content: | Directed study in Information Systems covers material which is not otherwise available to the student. Available topics will vary from year to year, as this unit can be taught by a visiting academic. general areas of study may include management of information systems, software development and current research issues in information systems. | |
Assessment: | An end-of-semester written examination of up to three hours. Assigned written and project work of at least 39 hours but not more than 78 hours must be completed satisfactorily to pass the subject. A detailed breakdown of assessment, with weightings and approximate hours to be spent on project work, will be made known to the student at the start of the subject. | |
