Objectives: | To provide students with skills in original research in plant science; to develop a capacity for critical thinking and evaluation of information; to instill knowledge across wide areas of plant sciences; to enhance communication skills. | |
Content: | Reading assignments, essay writing, presentation of seminars, and advanced lectures in two of the following areas: cellular and molecular biology, systematics and evolution, plant ecology and physiology, and plant pathology (minimum 30 hours). | |
Assessment: | A literature review not exceeding 3500 words (40% of overall mark), and two essays or written assignments focusing on topics presented in the series of advanced lectures (up to 2500 words each and 30% each). | |
