606-496 Botany Research Project

This is a joint Botany/Microbiology subject.

50 or more points of Botany at 300-level. The Head of Department may waive the prerequisites or stipulate additional points.

606-497

Objectives:

To provide students with skills in original research in plant science; to develop a capacity for critical thinking and evaluation of information; to instill knowledge across wide areas of plant sciences; to enhance communication skills.

Content:

An original supervised research project in a chosen area of Botany.

Assessment:

A written report not exceeding 10,000 words (80% of the overall mark), a seminar presentation (15%) and an oral examination concerning the research project (5%).
