526-325 Immunology Project

Note:

  • It is recommended that students do not enrol in both this subject and Pathology 531-305.

  • Students may enrol in one of 526-325 and 526-323 in any one year.

Prerequisites: Microbiology 526-304, 526-324. Corequisite: Microbiology 526-305.

54 hours practical work (nine a week, first six weeks only)

Objectives:

By the end of the subject students should:

Have developed:

  • skills in the design, conduct and interpretation of experiments in immunology.

  • skills in communicating the results of the experiments, both orally and in written reports.

  • an understanding of how to design and execute an immunological investigation.

Appreciate:

  • the necessity to keep clear laboratory notes as experiments progress;

  • the quantitative and qualitative aspects of interpretation of experimental results.

    An understanding of how to design and execute an immunological investigation.

Content:

A choice from a number of experimental projects will be offered.

Assessment:

Laboratory work; a written report of up to 3000 words.
