513-100 Growth, Development and Ageing

One hour lecture and one hour tutorial a week

Subject Description:

On completion of this subject, students should be able to understand and describe biological, psychological and social aspects of normal growth, development and ageing. Lecture material will introduce physical development and psychosocial development in a chronological framework. Tutorials will reinforce and expand on the lecture material. The interaction between physical and psychosocial development will be emphasised and examples given. Students will also be expected to develop their own capacity for making appropriate hypotheses about such links as they apply to physiotherapy practice.

Assessment:

A 90 minute end-of semester examination, (100%) assessing knowledge of physical development, psychological development and the interaction between these two dimensions.
