Subject Description: | This subject considers torts other than those which are dealt with in Torts and the Process of Law and Media Law. It starts with a description of the nature of torts and the aims of the law of torts. In the light of this different torts are then discussed depending on their topicality or theoretical interest. Current topics may include limitation of actions for child sexual abuse in the context of a remedy in battery, false imprisonment and malicious prosecution, trespass to land, nuisance and liability for pure economic loss. | |
Assessment: | Either Research Essay not exceeding 3000 words (50%) and Final Exam 1.5 hours (50%); or Final Exam 3 hours (100%). | |
