Objectives:

At the conclusion of this subject the student should have an understanding of the theory and computational methods associated with an area of advanced measurement science.

Content:

Theory and practice of the preliminary computations, least squares adjustments and results analysis drawn from one or more of the following areas: precise GPS techniques, kinematic GPS surveys, determination of geoid height, adjustment of large networks, close range photogrammetric surveys, epoch analyses for periodic inspection and deformation surveys, processing and analysis for digital photogrammetry. The execution process and algorithms used by computer applications packages for geodetic and photogrammetric adjustments.

Assessment:

Not more than two hours of written examinations and tests, and not more than the equivalent of 30 pages of written assignments and reports on practical work.
