Prerequisite/s:

Grade of H2A or better in 433-242 (From 1998: Grade of H2A or better in 433-253. Prior or concurrent enrolment in 433-254 is recommended).

26 lectures, 13 practical class hours

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should have an appreciation of some facets of research in Computer Science and an in depth exposure to at least one area.

Content:

A series of lectures on varied topics in Computer Science. The detailed content will vary from year to year, depending on staff interests.

Assessment:

Written work and possibly computer programs, not exceeding 4000 words in total. A satisfactory performance on each piece of set work is required to pass the subject. Weighting of assessment components will be made known at the commencement of the subject.
