Objectives:

To complete the subject successfully, you should demonstrate that you can:

• perform experiments requiring practical skills and an understanding of concepts important to electrical and electronic engineering;

• record, present and analyse results from these experiments;

• relate results from the experiments to concepts learnt during lectures and tutorials;

• keep laboratory notebooks to professional standards;

• write clear and concise reports when required and be able to describe your work orally when required;

• understand the use and limitations of test equipment and have an appreciation for errors introduced during the measurement process;

• appreciate safety issues in electrical engineering.

Content:

A series of experiments relevant to the second year level of electrical and computer engineering covering key aspects of electrical engineering, including construction, testing, analysis, recording and presentation tasks.
