421-450 Engineering Practices 2

26 hours of lectures and ten hours of practice classes

Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course the student should: understand their relationship as Engineers to the law and the society; have further developed managerial skills in planning and organising projects; understand the need for leadership and control when dealing with projects and have an understanding of the construction techniques commonly used in Engineering.

Content:

Construction management control systems; networks for planning and financial control; engineering and Society; law and the engineer; industrial relations; engineering construction.

Assessment:

Up to two assignments of not more than 5000 words and a two-hour examination at the end of the semester. 40% assignments, 60% examination.
