Objectives:

At the completion of this subject students should:

  • appreciate the interaction that is required between the technical, economic and managerial components that combine to lead to the successful completion of an engineering project.

  • have achieved an understanding of the links between planning, design and construction aspects of a project.

Content:

The scope of engineering projects. Elements of a project. Function and interaction between elements. Construction aspects.

Assessment:

A two-hour examination (60%) and one 2000 word assignment or equivalent (40%).
