Objectives:

Students completing this unit will:

  • have gained experience in the practical and safe application of important chemical engineering unit operations;

  • have gained confidence in operating and controlling a range of process equipment types;

  • have improved their skills in collecting and analysing data and in reporting their findings in an appropriate manner.

Content:

Students undertake a number of experimental projects involving aspects of heat transfer, mass transfer, fluid flow, reaction kinetics, process control and safety.

Assessment:

Reports and presentations (100%).
