Prerequisite/s: | None for students gaining entry to the Engineering or Science Faculties. However, 411-102 CPA1 is recommended. This unit is also available for Community Access Programmes. | |

Objectives: | students completing this unit will:

Content: | Introduction to the PC; the DOS operating system; the WINDOWS operating system; the use of EXCEL for spreadsheet chemical engineering calculations; the use of CHEMCAD for process flowsheet design. Assignments will be of two hours' duration and will introduce ill-defined process engineering problems and include about 7 computer-based exercises. | |
Assessment: | This unit is continuously assessed via about 7 assignments each equivalent to no more than 1000 words. | |
