Language and Literature

First, second and third year English subjects are offered by the English Department in the Faculty of Arts. A range of third and fourth year Language and Literature subjects is also offered by the Faculty of Education, a number of which are related to teaching English in the classroom, and so are designated as link studies. Third year students will normally take three 11.1 point Language and Literature C subjects. Language and Literature D subjects are available in fourth year.

The prerequisite for Teaching Method in English D in the BEd (Secondary) course is Language and Literature B1 with one other Language and Literature B subject, or approved equivalent. 33.3 points of second year studies in English Department subjects is recognised as equivalent.
