Handbook 1997 : Faculty of Education : Bachelor of Education
The Bachelor of Education course is available to students proceeding from the Diploma of Teaching (Technical and Further Education) or the Diploma of Teaching (Technology). The course involves one year of full-time study, or equivalent part-time study, for students who have completed a Diploma of Teaching or equivalent, and who teach in post-primary schools or TAFE colleges.
The aim of the course is to provide a synthesis of practical experience and theoretical studies which extends students' knowledge and understanding of education, and which increases their ability to contribute effectively and flexibly in the processes of post-primary and technical and further education.
This course is being phased out over the next few years. The last intake into the course was in 1995. All currently enrolled students will be able to complete the requirements of the course if normal academic progress is maintained.
A limited number of subjects from this course are available again in 1997. Please refer to the 1995 and 1996 Handbooks for subject details.
Please contact the Faculty Office at Hawthorn campus, telephone (03) 9810 3320 for further information.
