Six hours of lecture/demonstration/seminar/studio sessions and an additional four hours of timetabled studio access each week, and a total of 10 days Field Experience

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of issues relating to the appreciation and production of two-dimensional art;

  • demonstrate an understanding of the inter-relationship of the two-dimensional art disciplines;

  • demonstrate a development of skills in the two-dimensional art media;

  • adopt an informed and articulate position in relation to their practice; and

  • demonstrate a high degree of conceptual development.

Content:

Students' time will be devoted to a continuing development of personal expression through an individual program devised in consultation with the Lecturer. As part of their program students will study materials and methods of production. Students undertake 10 days of related Field Experience.

Assessment:

A folio of works which reflects participation in all aspects of the program of study (80%) and a written and visual journal (20%). Students must satisfactorily complete the Field Experience component.
