Objectives: | On completion of this subject students should be able to:

Content: | Topics selected from: the classroom application of recent research results, research strategies in education; attitudes in science education; the measurement of achievement and techniques for investigating classroom processes; language in the science classroom; gender issues in science education; analysis of science curriculum content in relation to children's learning and mixed-ability teaching. | |
Assessment: | Informed participation in classes; summaries of approximately 100 words each of ten class papers (20%); an assignment of approximately 1500 words on learning studies (30%); a seminar paper of about 1000 words (20%); a literature search of about 1500 words (30%). | |
