Content: | An examination of curriculum issues in health and physical education through the Curriculum and Standards Framework. Practical workshops and seminars focus upon primary school activities, and will prepare students for national coaching awards. Other topics will include motor learning theory and application; exercise prescription and application; human sexuality and classroom issues; safety and challenge in outdoor education; nutrition through the lifespan; and the health promoting school. | |
Assessment: | Written assignments totalling 1500 words (50%), a 3 hour examination (30%) and a school based project (20%). | |
