One 2-hour practical workshop/seminar per week

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • apply knowledge of arts elements in a multi-arts context;

  • demonstrate understanding of the similarities and differences between the arts strands of dance, drama, music and visual arts; and

  • analyse original arts works according to principles and outcomes as presented in Arts Curriculum Standards and Frameworks documents. A study of selected community artists and their contribution to the arts and education.

Content:

An examination of multi-arts practices within the context of Arts Curriculum Standards and Frameworks documents. A study of selected community artists and their contribution to the arts and education.

Assessment:

Research component: approximately 1000 words (30%); weekly tasks and preparation (30%); multi-arts performance project (40%).
