One 2-hour practical workshop/seminar each week except during periods of School Experience

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • initiate and make drama/visual art that explores issues, concepts and themes;

  • integrate technical and structural elements in an imaginative, skillful and coherent way to make drama/ visual art;

  • perform/create drama/visual art that reflects sensitivity, commitment and an understanding of aesthetic considerations;

  • use processes of critical analysis to support personal judgements of drama/visual arts; and

  • demonstrate an understanding of the major issues concerning educational drama/visual art.

Content:

Students will develop and refine their concepts, practical skills, techniques and processes in order to produce a range of their own arts works. Students will use their ideas, experiences and knowledge of the arts elements to inform their work. Examination of current research as they relate to Drama or Visual Arts.

Assessment:

Written work totalling 1200 words (30%); performance or folio project (70%).
