Objectives: | On completion of the subject the student should be able to:

Content: | An individual research project into the work of a single author, including an examination of the author's development, the strengths and weaknesses of the writing, cultural influences and characteristic concerns. Exploration of children's responses to the author's books. | |
Assessment: | A 6000-word literary essay including a comprehensive report on children's responses to the author's work, based on practical work with children (100%). | |
