480-306 Information Management C11: Supervised Professional Practice 1

Completion of at least 175.0 points in the course.

Summer or first or second semester

Contact:

A minimum of 18 weeks of approved, relevant employment, supervised by both a workplace and an academic supervisor

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • master the job application procedures required to gain a position of employment;

  • satisfactorily perform the duties as outlined in the position description/job goals;

  • function effectively as a support team member;

  • communicate effectively using oral and written media;

  • display skill competency in assigned computer and/or information based activities; and

  • display knowledge and understanding of the local work environment and relevant business operations.

Content:

Supervised professional practice within an approved workplace.

Assessment:

Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 18 weeks' supervised professional practice.
