480-305 Information Management C14: Supervised Professional Practice Project 2

Satisfactory completion of, or concurrent enrolment in, Information Management C11 Supervised Professional Practice 1.

Contact:

Normally taken concurrently with Information Management C12. The student is expected to work under the guidance of the workplace supervisor and the academic supervisor

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • provide a management perspective of a business organisation by analysing it in terms of its external environment and internal dynamics;

  • display knowledge and conceptual understanding of the information needs of the organisation and its information system solutions;

  • identify, analyse and evaluate specific job roles, their contribution to organisational goals and information system solutions, the work structure and procedures employed;

  • recommend potential areas of change; and

  • demonstrate report writing and presentation skills of a high standard.

Content:

The analysis and evaluation of specific job roles within the context of a business organisation. A management perspective is taken and emphasis will be placed on the relationship of the job roles to the organisation's information system.

Assessment:

A business management report of at least 3000 words (100%).
