476-412 Teaching Method in Business Studies 2D

Only available for students enrolled in Teaching Method in Business Studies 1D.

Pre/Corequisite/s:

  • (For each Teaching Method D) Satisfactory completion of Education Studies C, School Experience C and a minimum of 250 points credit in the course. Concurrent enrolment in Education Studies D and School Experience D12.

  • Teaching Method in Business Studies 1C and Teaching Method in Business Studies 2C, together with successful completion of, or concurrent enrolment in, subjects in at least three of the following areas: Accounting - Accounting B11 and B22, or an approved equivalent; Business Management - Information Management B8 and one of Information Management B6, C1 and C2, or an approved equivalent; Economics - Economics B11 and B22, or an approved equivalent; Information Management - Information Management B1 and B4, or an approved equivalent; Legal Studies - Legal Studies B1 and either Legal Studies B2 or B3, or an approved equivalent.

Two 1-hour seminars in each of 15 weeks

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • demonstrate an understanding of the institutional context and processes of curriculum in two senior secondary subjects in the field of Business Studies (in addition to the one senior secondary subject covered in Teaching Method in Business Studies 1D); and

  • design, teach and evaluate extended and coherent units of work in two senior secondary subjects in the field of Business Studies (in addition to the one senior secondary subject covered in Teaching Method in Business Studies 1D).

Content:

VCE; Study Designs; Curriculum Development and Support Materials in specific VCE studies. Models of curriculum and their application in two senior subjects in Business Studies (in addition to the one senior secondary subject covered in Teaching Method in Business Studies 1D); teaching those two subjects under VCE; strategies, methods and resources for teaching and learning in relation to the prevailing model of curriculum.

Assessment:

Written assignments totalling 2000 words or equivalent.
