468-404 Information Technology - Enhanced Learning

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • analyse and evaluate research into the application of different information and communications technologies to learning;

  • identify and apply criteria for the use of appropriate information and communications technology in the delivery of education and training;

  • analyse and evaluate issues in the application of information and communications technology to the delivery of education and training; and

  • demonstrate a capacity to enhance education and training through information and communications technology.

Content:

Theories of learning, perception, cognition, information and instructional design, in relation to enhancing education through information and communications technology; characteristics and effectiveness of different technologies in relation to requirements of different types of learning; and the design of education and training programs for both distance education and on-site delivery.

Assessment:

One 3000 word essay (40%) and one project (60%).
