468-216 Information Technology Policy and Program

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • identify the impact of information technology in vocational education and training organisations in both management and curriculum areas;

  • review the development of policies and implications of information systems in VET;

  • analyse and critically compare contemporary and emerging polices in VET for the management and integration of information technologies; and

  • critique information management policy and strategic planning in VET.

Content:

Information technology policy and planning issues in VET organisations; implementation of information technology management strategies for applications and developments; social, economical and political perspectives of information technology management, analysis of current issues - local, national and global - in information technology planning.

Assessment:

A paper on a negotiated topic of 3500 word (100%).
