468-210 Consultancy and Project Management

Note:

Special Requirement: Students in this subject are required to complete a concurrent Workplace Learning Agreement.

Program Evaluation.

Timetable:

Semester 1 and 2

Contact:

40 hours including a minimum of two hours per week for ten (10) weeks in an approved workplace setting

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • demonstrate an understanding of the nature and purposes of consultancy activities in education and training contexts;

  • develop a submission for a consultancy project including a project plan; and

  • evaluate consultancy proposals and projects for specific contexts.

Content:

Concepts, rationale, characteristic purposes and features of consultancy; theories and models of organisational change and development and the consultant's role; types and frameworks for consultancy; values and ethics for consultants; professional development and associations.

Assessment:

An essay of 1500 words (50%) and a consultancy proposal relating to the workplace learning agreement, 1500 words (50%).
