468-208 Administration of Education and Training

Note:

Special Requirement: Students in this subject are required to be able to complete a concurrent Workplace Learning Agreement.

Planning and Delivery 2.

Timetable:

Semester 1 and 2

Contact:

40 hours including a minimum of two hours per week for ten (10) weeks in an approved workplace setting

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • understand the administrative systems and processes associated with education and training in the workplace;

  • assess alternative approaches to the strategic planning of education and training activities;

  • analyse selected approaches to budgeting for education and training; and

  • demonstrate basic understanding of human resource management systems in education and training.

Content:

The application of management models to education and training; a study of the impact on learning of administrative systems; information needs and processes in organisational contexts; introduction to budget preparation and analysis, human resource management systems.

Assessment:

A portfolio based on the Workplace Learning Agreement (50%) and a case study of 1500 words (50%).
