468-206 Contemporary Issues in Vocational Education and Training (Vet)

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • identify current issues in vocational education and training;

  • analyse Australian vocational education policy and practice in relation to national and international objectives;

  • understand the development of VET from selected cultural, political, historical and economic perspectives; and

  • reflect critically on Australian VET systems and practices.

Content:

Current political, economic and social perspectives of VET; an analysis of the nature, origin and scope of public and professional issues in VET.

Assessment:

A paper of 3500 words (100%).
