468-108 Program Evaluation

Note:

Special Requirement: Students in this subject are required to be able to complete a concurrent Workplace Learning Agreement.

Timetable:

Semester 1 and 2

Contact:

40 hours including a minimum of two hours per week for ten (10) weeks in an approved workplace setting

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • understand the objectives and purposes of evaluation;

  • describe selected procedures of evaluation relevant to education and training;

  • create and justify an evaluation plan for implementation in the workplace; and

  • prepare an evaluation report.

Content:

Theories of evaluation of education and training contexts; forms and procedures for summative and formative evaluation; approaches to the design, conduct and reporting of evaluation.

Assessment:

An essay of 1800 words (50%); and a report of 1800 words arising from the Workplace Learning Agreement (50%).
