468-107 Program Design

Note:

Special Requirements: students in this subject are required to be able to complete a concurrent Workplace Learning Agreement.

Prerequisite/s:

Completion of, or concurrent enrolment in, Planning and Delivery 1.

Timetable:

Semester 1 and 2

Contact:

40 hours including a minimum of two hours per week for ten (10) weeks in an approved workplace setting

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • demonstrate understanding of program design elements and models;

  • explain the relationships between needs assessment models, program design and strategies for learning;

  • demonstrate practical strategies for curriculum planning and implementation in a particular specialist field; and

  • analyse program design and facilitation processes using selected frameworks.

Content:

Methodologies for program design and development; identification of factors impinging on program design decisions, exploration of theoretical underpinnings and applications in the workplace.

Assessment:

One essay of 1800 words (50%) and one paper of 1800 words drawn from the workplace learning agreement (50%).
