468-106 Planning and Delivery 2

Note:

Special Requirements: students in this subject are required to be able to complete a concurrent Workplace Learning Agreement.

Planning and Delivery 1.

Timetable:

Semester 1 and 2

Contact:

40 hours including a minimum of two hours per week for ten (10) weeks in an approved workplace setting

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • identify 'training', 'development' or 'education' as distinct fields in the workplace context;

  • understand and apply selected techniques for facilitating workplace learning;

  • demonstrate competence in using selected planning and delivery techniques; and

  • evaluate the assumptions and consequences of competency based training.

Content:

Constructs of 'training', 'development', 'education'; designing training and learning interventions; aspects of self-paced and self-directed learning programs, on-the-job/off-the-job and contract learning, evaluation of personal performance; introduction to competency based training and workplace assessment theory and practice.

Assessment:

A portfolio relating theory to practice (50%) and one report on a selected aspect of program delivery, 1500 words, (50%) each based on the Workplace Learning Agreement.
