Objectives: | On completion of this subject students should be able to:

Content: | The emergence of sensory, perceptual and motor competence in the young child. The organisation of the sensory and motor systems and an examination of factors that influence the development of perceptual competence and motor skill. Theories of perceptual development and motor learning and the psychological development of the child. | |
Assessment: | An essay of 2500 words (50%); and a practical task of 2500 words (50%). | |
