A total of 20 days of supervised classroom teaching organised into two separate blocks of 10 days each in the same school

Objectives:

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

  • demonstrate the ability to plan learning experiences, to select appropriate teaching strategies and resources and to manage learning in secondary classrooms; and

  • demonstrate a development of their teaching skills through the use of a range of approaches which are claimed to promote effective learning.

Content:

Two 10-day teaching periods taken in distinct blocks provides the opportunity to build on the experience of the first 10 days and to apply the understandings gained from Education and Methods Studies during the year.

Assessment:

20 days of supervised school experience (100%).
